Sweet

Today I set the intention to think sweet thoughts! As such, I've decided to share one of my recent creations, "Love is sweet", and tell you about my youngest daughter's recent birthday party.

We had a great time planning Emma's seventh birthday party. We chose an old-fashioned ice cream place where everything is mini...miniature red stools and counters, black and white check floors. Very cute.

Since Emma loves all things pink, princess and fancy our theme was Fancy Nancy. All the little the girls had their nails and makeup done before walking down a red carpet runway. We had posh puppy favors and yummy marshmallow pops.

Plus, the birthday girl loved having her own tiny little cake! Thanks for letting me share this with you.

Peeking Out

Today I took a chance and contacted a couple of incredible women whose work and blogs I've secretly admired for a while now asking them to take a look at my humble beginnings. :) And I'm so happy that they've taken the time to take a peek at my little corner of the blog world and have allowed me to post links on my sidebar to their very inspiring places. So for that I thank them. I've listed a few more things in my Etsy shop...another ring pillow and baby door hangers. I hope you like them and I love feedback!

Hi There!

Welcome! I'm glad you found my little corner of the world. I've absolutely loved getting a peek into other people's crafty worlds while I've been working on my little pillow project. I've gotten such insight into other people's process and I'm hoping to share a little of my own. So a bit about me...I'm self taught in my art and I've just listed the first item in my Etsy shop. This is a brand new endeavor and I'm learning my way around this blog and that shop (so please be patient with my first fumblings...I'll get better--I promise!). So what would you like to know? Way back in the nineties I had my own bridal veil business in New York City. Things were so different then but I loved working with brides. Before that, I was a magazine editor. After that, I was a stay at home mom to three amazing girls. Now I'm in awe of the Etsy and internet revolution and how it's changed small business and artistic enterprises.

So that's me and I'm glad I am here. I did it! My first post. I hope you will come back often and let me know what you think. Rita :)
